What is CO2RE fractional laser resurfacing treatment?
CO2 skin resurfacing has long been the gold standard in laser facial rejuvenation but traditional treatments could carried risks, could cause pain and required weeks of downtime.
The evolution of fractional CO2 treatments enabled us to minimise these side effects without compromising on results.
The CO2RE device offers multiple treatment options for skin resurfacing, including improvement in skin tone and texture, sun damage, age spots and fine lines and wrinkles as well as the reduction of scars, including acne scars.
What does CO2RE fractional laser resurfacing involve?
CO2RE is a fractional laser resurfacing treatment, sometimes described as a “laser peel”.
The versatile treatment enables us to precisely target and effectively treat the skin safely. The device has four treatment options: Fusion, Light, Mid and Deep for surface, middle and deep dermal layer treatments.
The CO2RE Fusion scan pattern allows us to treat both the epidermis (outer layers of the skin) and dermis (deeper layer of the skin) simultaneously for optimum anti-ageing results.
CO2RE Light provides superficial resurfacing in the epidermis increasing epidermal cell growth.
CO2RE Mid penetrates more deeply for a stronger fractional resurfacing effect.
CO2RE Deep penetrates through the epidermis to the deeper dermis for a deeper fractional ablative effect.
The treatment can be a little uncomfortable but topical anaesthetic is applied beforehand to minimise any discomfort. The treatment is generally well-tolerated. For deeper treatments, we may recommend oral pain relief or local anaesthetic.
Is CO2RE fractional laser resurfacing safe and is there any recovery time?
With traditional CO2 treatments the whole of the epidermis (the outer layer of the skin) was “ablated” or removed which is why the treatment was associated with a number of risks and significant recovery time.
With fractional CO2 treatments we only damage a small percentage of the skin, leaving other parts intact. This makes the treatment much safer and results in in far less downtime and pain as well as a reduced risk of post inflammatory hyper-pigmentation, sensitivity and infection.
Following your treatment your skin may feel tight and similar to a sunburn. This may last for a few hours. You may also get some swelling.
In the seven to 10 days following your treatment your skin will start to flake and peel, which is completely normal and shows the treatment is working and that the skin is regenerating.
What kind of results can I expect with CO2RE fractional laser resurfacing?
One of the best things about the CO2RE is that you can achieve noticeable results with just one treatment.
You will continue to see improvements for up to three months after treatment as your skin rejuvenates.
CO2 fractional laser resurfacing is a very effective treatment for skin rejuvenation.
